Dear Captains, seafarers, staff members, clients and associates,
In the light of the recent developments with regards to the spread avoidance of the virus Covid-19 as per the World Health Organisation (W.H.O.) general guidelines, we feel obliged to address this circular to all of you, in order to inform you about the several measures that we are taking as of today.
We are all witnessing the traveling restrictions and all other precautionary measures taken by a number of countries worldwide. Such measures are reviewed on a constant basis and new considerations and restrictions are further implemented.
A first and immediate result is that there is a substantial decrease of flight possibilities but also the health restrictions are reducing the number of airports which in actual fact will be in operation.
As you may understand, all these restrictive measures imposed by the several countries, make it impossible for us to effect scheduled crew changes onboard our crew management vessels. The truth is that even if we manage to get some flights, the seafarers will be stacked in some airports, due to the health quarantine requirements. As a consequence to this, we are not in the position to perform the scheduled required crew changes as from today, the 14th of March 2020.
You will therefore realise that in order to overcome these difficulties, the crew members presently serving onboard the vessels who have completed their contracts, will be requested to stay onboard for additional periods as required. For the present time, all crew changes will be postponed for the minimum period of 2 weeks and the situation will be closely monitored and re-evaluated accordingly. We count on the support and understanding of all our seafarers and their families as well as our clients during these difficult times.
We shall resume full crew changes the moment the circumstances improve and the national and international measures taken for the spread avoidance of Covid-19 are removed.
We, of course, will try to attend emergency replacements as best as possible and as far as the prevailing restrictions allow.
All crew members onboard are kindly requested to keep in contact to the office persons in charge and seafarers at home to keep contact with their manning agents. Such contact should be done strictly by phone, email and any other electronical means. You should not physically visit the office, unless you are specifically requested to do so.
If any of our seafarers or their families are in any need, they may contact by phone our local agents accordingly. We shall make all efforts possible to solve any problems that may arise.
Furthermore, we request our Captains on board to follow all our circulars and the instructions of the respective DOC holders which have been provided for the avoidance of the spread of the virus as well as all the national and international requirements in this respect.
We would finally like to re-assure all our business associates that our Marlow network will do their utmost to solve any problems. We are confident that with the full support, understanding and joint efforts of all parties involved, we shall overcome these very difficult circumstances.
