They were a good opportunity for Marlow’s Ukrainian seafarers, currently relocated and living in Poland to take part and also to meet.
Both seminars, hosted by Marlow Navigation Poland, were attended by forty officers in total, along with representatives from the group’s head office in Cyprus, including Crew Operations Manager, Boguslaw Walczak and Senior Crew Superintendent, Sergey Lysov.
Focus over the days was on several important topics, namely Crew Awareness, Charter Prospects, P&I, Incidents and Accidents, Maritime Resource Management, and Customer Feedback. Other areas covered included streamlining and enhancing Communication for better cooperation on board and between crew and ship owners/managers, dispute resolution, and avoiding bias Crew Performance Reports, why it is essential and the wider implications.
The seminars ended with a social event, giving participants and speakers the opportunity to get to know each other better, share experiences and ideas. Meanwhile, it also provided the opportunity to award 10-year long-serving seafarers with their Marlow watches.
Overall, the event received lots of positive feedback from the officers who took part. More such seminars are being planned for various locations across the Marlow global network. When taking place in Europe, Ukrainian officers based in those countries will once again also have the opportunity to take part.
