Marlow Philippines seminars for all employees to promote company values

Recently, Marlow Philippines held a number of seminars for employees to promote company values.

Presentations were provided by key company leaders, including Director for Operations, Captain Rizaldo Madanlo, CEO for Administration Tony Galvez and CEO for Operations, Captain Leo Tenorio. The seminars were not just a learning event, but interactive sessions, getting participants to engage and share their views and experiences on how they apply the company’s values in their daily activities at the office.

“Our company values provide the foundation for what we care about and how we deliver our services. We have to truly honour these values in everything we do, and set the right example for each other, as well as motivate a positive team environment,” stated Galvez.

Company values, also known as corporate values or core values, are the set of guiding principles and fundamental beliefs that help the people at a company function together as a team and work towards common goals.

Often, these values relate to relationships with customers and partners, including seafarers, shipping companies, training partners, suppliers, and industry organisation, among other. Such values also play a critical role in impacting overall employee experience, talent retention and attraction.

Having clear company values helps to ensure all people are working towards the same goals, i.e. sailing in the same direction, whilst supporting the wider company vision and shaping its culture. At Marlow Philippines, these values have been labelled “True North” – the compass which guides us on the right path.

“As a company, our service, reputation, and ultimately success relies on the professional conduct of all employees – towards our seafarers, clients, and all partners. We are all brand ambassadors!” added Captain Madanlo.

All speakers during the seminars also contextualised these values and ethics into daily work activities, but also for being a part of one’s own personal attributes.

“It is the attitude and skills we have as individuals that impacts the work we do and the services we provide as a company. We should always endeavour to create a positive experience for our seafarers, clients and partners, but also for shore-based colleagues and the overall office environment. In this way, we can build great teams, deliver excellent customer service and foster quality and excellence,” concluded Captain Tenorio.
