Marlow Philippines FAQs

What are your agency/office opening hours

Opening hours for our offices throughout the Philippines are weekdays from 09.00 until 18.00.
In case you are an applicant and you would like to arrange your test at one of our offices, please report to your nearest agency location in the Philippines.

We look forward to meeting you!

What is the pay scale for seafarers

The official Marlow wage scale contains a type of seniority system for long-serving crew. However, Marlow’s standard pay scale does not apply for every vessel, therefore employment offers are always subject to a case-by-case basis and agreement.

What social security is available during employment period and after

The respective Social Security benefits for Filipino crew at Marlow are described in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement or Terms and Conditions. Seafarers are given the opportunity to review these documents prior to employment. There is a mandatory national Social Contribution system in the Philippines.

Does the company offer training possibilities

At Marlow, we are committed to seafarer training and development, as it is the foundation to quality and safety in shipping/crewing, as well as employee career progression and satisfaction. As such, we have a wide range of training and upgrading courses throughout our various locations around the world. This includes simulator training, Computer Based Training (CBT), and classroom teaching. Some of these are mandatory, whilst others are optional. In the Philippines, our training centre also has a 650-bed 4-star dormitory.

We are also always open to consider additional training options for our Filipino seafarers when available.

In the Philippines, we have a leading cadet programme at United Marine Training Centre (UMTC), together with affiliation to many maritime universities and colleges throughout the Philippines. Of course this aspect integrates vital practical and sea-going training.

Does Marlow employ seafarers without seagoing experience

Unfortunately we cannot offer employment for applicants who did not have seagoing experience. Candidates are chosen based on their qualifications, experience and professional competence. Cadets, ELECADS and CKTR who are students of our partner maritime universities or whom are selected during walk in examinations to be part of training program are obvious exceptions here.

What type of vessels do we normally recruit seafarers to work on

The majority of our seafarers, Filipino and globally, are recruited to work on-board dry cargo vessels, including (but not limited to) container carriers, multipurpose vessels, heavy lifters, bulkers and coasters. We also have employment opportunities on-board some tankers, as well as offshore vessels, mainly AHTS.

How to apply for a job via Marlow Philippines

Applications for seafarer jobs (registration of interest for possible future employment) can be sent directly via this website, or even via our Facebook page for careers. These are the preferred methods, as it allows us to process your job application most efficiently. Alternatively, your application may be emailed directly to our recruitment agency, or you may also visit one of our offices throughout the Philippines and submit your application in person.

Our recruitment team here in the Philippines will then process your job application accordingly. Candidates are always chosen exclusively based on their qualification, experience and professional competence. Should you be successful, you will be invited for a job interview and computer based test.
