This is a new perspective for Reederei BUSS, a traditional company, facing challenging shipping markets. Having reached an agreement with the creditors of Hermann Buss GmbH & Cie KG, the company will be reorganised and its ships and competencies will be coordinated in close cooperation with LIBERTY ONE.

LIBERTY ONE is a Bremen Based shipping company founded by Dietrich Schulz in 2011. In recent years LIBERTY ONE has successfully handled around 100 ships for its clients. LIBERTY ONE’s activities cover the entire maritime service spectrum. This includes ship management and the chartering of tonnage. The close cooperation will in future combine 16 LIBERTY ONE vessels and the entire Reederei BUSS fleet, to be managed out of Leer and Bremen. This creates a competitive fleet of 33 container ships, multi-purpose vessels and bulk carriers.

Building a future with experienced management

Dietrich Schulz will, in addition to his function as Managing Director of LIBERTY ONE, assume responsibility for Reederei BUSS. Dietrich Schulz has more than 20 years’ experience in management roles within renowned international shipping companies. With LIBERTY ONE, he has successfully established a strong enterprise in the face of a difficult market.

The aim is to build a strong cooperation, which combines complimentary services of each company and in the medium term, allows expansion of the current fleet.

"Reederei BUSS employs qualified professionals for its well-structured fleet. The cooperation with LIBERTY ONE will create the necessary growth to ensure a successful continuation and development of existing structures," said Dietrich Schulz.
