MarCrew Celebrates 25 Years in Germany

The event was attended by over 200 guests, including clients and partners, together with staff. Marcrew’s Managing Directors, Michael Eden and Frank Homann welcomed guests, with the former providing a speech that looked back at the collaborative achievements, as well as the vision ahead.

“It is essential to reflect on the journey that has brought us to this significant milestone. Our story, and here I of course speak for the whole Marlow Group rather than only Marcrew, is not just one of business success but one of deep and enduring relationships with you; our clients, business partners and in many cases by now friends,” said Michael Eden, who has been Managing Director in Hamburg for the last 18 years.

Part of the Marlow Group, Marcrew is a third-party crew management company established since 1999. Marlow’s strong presence in Hamburg is a key part of global operations, providing essential crew and ship management services and playing a significant role in the German maritime industry. A strategic location here allows the organisation to efficiently service German-based clients and contribute to the vibrant maritime community.

In addition to crew management, Marcrew provides port agency services throughout Germany. This department is the direct link to seafarers and clients’ vessels and enables the company to provide a complete range of customer-oriented crew management and shipping related services.

Looking to the future, there are many challenges, but also exciting opportunities that lie ahead. The maritime industry is constantly evolving and the company is committed to staying at the forefront of this dynamic landscape. This includes continued investment in new technologies, enhancement of the human element, and overall ongoing high-quality services. It will also require transformation of what is still the most effective mode of transport in the world today. Such changes will also further promote the maritime world as an attractive and viable career path.

“The need for young, creative minds, both on board and ashore is more visible than ever before. A positive image is today an important part of attracting this talent,” continued Eden. “Your feedback has also shaped our strategies, your needs have driven our innovations, and your trust has been our greatest reward. We are deeply grateful for the confidence you have placed in us and for the collaborative spirit that has characterised our relationships.”

The company’s management extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been a part of Marcrew and Marlow’s journey. To the dedicated colleagues ashore and at sea, whose hard work and passion are the backbone of the company; loyal clients, whose trust is the foundation of success; and to partners and friends, whose support has been invaluable.

Luckily, the unpredictable Hamburg weather took a surprising turn during the Anniversary event, with the sun making an unexpected appearance at the party. Thanks to this delightful twist, guests were able to enjoy the beautiful Hamburg sunset outdoors, making our celebration even more memorable.
