WMU Visits Marlow Philippines & UMTC

A group of students from the World Maritime University visit and tour Marlow Philippines and United Marine Training Center.

A group of 12 students from the World Maritime University (WMU), led by Professor Anne Pazaver visited Marlow Philippines and United Marine Training Center (UMTC) at the end of May this year, as part of their 6-day field study visit in the Philippines.

The delegates are postgraduate students of Master of Science in Maritime Affairs, specialising in Maritime Education and Training (MSc. MET). They were accompanied by representatives of the Philippine Coast Guard.

The group was invited to presentations, highlighting the company’s and training centre’s structure, its comprehensive training programmes and courses, and were given a guided tour of the facilities and state-of-the-art equipment.

The World Maritime University (WMU), based in Malmö, Sweden, is a postgraduate maritime university founded by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Established by an IMO Assembly Resolution in 1983, the aim of WMU is to further enhance the objectives and goals of IMO and IMO member states around the world through education, research, and capacity building to ensure safe, secure, and efficient shipping on clean oceans.
