Marlow Philippines celebrates World Maritime Day & Week of the Sea, 2016

As part of one of the leading seafaring nations in the world, Marlow Philippines joined in on the celebrations for World Maritime Day & Week of the Sea, 2016.

The events were organised to pay respect to Maritime and the seas, whilst recognising and saying thanks to all those #AtSeaForAll – making world trade go round & vital to the local economy in the Philippines.

"Anyone can hold the helm when the sea is calm". It is a fact and Seafarers are not just anyone. They are skilled professionals who usually live most of their lives at sea with the work they do supporting the global economy and the people ashore.

Marlow Philippines joined the celebration by participating in the motorcade, together with other leading maritime companies. The event welcomed well-known personalities in the Philippines Maritime Industry, including newly appointed MARINA Administrator, who formally opened the event. Besides from participating in the various events during National Maritime Week, Marlow also embraced the weeklong celebration by inviting seafarers to lunch and refreshments.

Managing Director, Capt. Leo Tenorio, together with the office team greeted seafarers and personally thanked them for their great work. A small gesture, but a big thank you to all!

"Maritime National Week is such a huge success, as it embodies full respect for the industry, the sea, and of course our hard working Filipino seafarers; both for their country and the world economy," said Capt Tenorio. "To give recognition to the people who honourably work for the country is the most fitting thing to do and living up to its name and reputation, Marlow Navigation Phil. Inc. has graced this event beautifully," he added.
