The A-Z of Ship Management - Marlow Navigation

Marlow Navigation recently participated at the Maritime Cyprus Conference in Limassol which took place between 6 and 9 October 2019. This year’s theme was “Sea Change”.

Maritime Cyprus always provides an excellent opportunity to welcome many business partners, associates and guests to the island, as well as meet and greet new visitors and present the company.

This year was particularly exciting to launch a new campaign “The A-Z of Ship Management”, which emphasises Marlow’s many areas of specialisation and approach to ship management; today and for the future. Some areas of focus include:

R for Revolution: New digital technologies offering revolutionary possibilities to access ship, cargo and crew data. Keeping our clients informed 24/7 – or whenever they want.

S for Sustainability: Preserving the environment is one of the most important upcoming challenges in shipping. We´re already educating and training our crew in best practices – from energy-saving engines to avoiding pollution.

P for People: It’s all about the people. Our well-trained crew differentiates us from many and is still one of the most important aspects of running a ship.

Maritime Cyprus is an established biennial event organised by the Shipping Deputy Ministry in cooperation with the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and the Cyprus Union of Shipowners. In 2019, Maritime Cyprus celebrated 30 years since it was first held in 1989.

The conference brought together more than 1,000 participants from all over the world to become better acquainted with the strong maritime cluster here in Limassol, including shipowners, shipping executives, regulators and state officials. This year’s line-up included discussions on all important topics relevant to the shipping industry, including shifts in established business models, regulatory challenges, environmental protection and the impact of technological transformation.

The official opening of the working part took place on Monday, 7th October 2019 by H.E. the President of the Republic of Cyprus. Distinguished guests such as the IMO Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Kitack Lim, the European Commissioner for Transport, the Presidents of ECSA, ICS and BIMCO, as well as renowned shipowners and world class experts also took part in the discussions.
