What is the pay scale for seafarers

Official Marlow wage scale contains a type of seniority system for long-serving crew. However, Marlow’s standard pay scale does not apply for every vessel, therefore employment offers are always subject to a case-by-case basis and agreement.

What social security is available during employment period and after

The respective Social Security benefits for Polish crew at Marlow are described in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement or Terms and Conditions.  Seafarers are given the opportunity to review these documents prior to employment.

Does the company offer training possibilities

At Marlow, we are committed to seafarer training and development, as it is the foundation to quality and safety crewing, as well as employee career progression and satisfaction. As such, we have a wide range of training and upgrading courses throughout our various locations around the world, including Poland. Some of these are mandatory, whilst others are optional.

We are also always open to consider additional training options for our Polish seafarers when available.

Does Marlow employ seafarers without seagoing experience

Unfortunately we cannot offer employment for applicants who do not have seagoing experience. Candidates are chosen based on their qualifications, experience and professional competence. Cadets who are students of our partner maritime universities and academies are obvious exceptions here.

Are there training positions for Polish cadets

Despite that training position for cadets are limited, we make an effort to recruit as many cadets as possible. No doubt it is an essential part of long term crew sustainability, and in producing new officers.

What about taxes for Polish seafarers

Income of all Polish residents is subject of taxation in Poland. Specific regulations between two various countries are set in bilateral taxation treaties. Our clients are registered in Cyprus and Germany. Both countries have signed double tax treaties with Poland, therefore regulation allows income taxes for seafarers to be in country of employment, as per specific country of employment regulations.

What type of vessels do we normally recruit seafarers to work on

Majority of our seafarers, Polish and globally, are recruited to work on board dry cargo vessels, including (but not limited to) container carriers, multipurpose vessels, heavy lifters, bulkers and coasters. We also have employment opportunities on board some tankers, as well as offshore vessels, mainly AHTS.
