To celebrate the 21st Anniversary of Marlow Navigation Phils., Inc., the team visited La Mesa Nature Reserve in early July to volunteer in tree planting.
Around 100 Marlow people participated in the event, committed on preserving the local environment for future generations.
La Mesa Nature Reserve in Quezon City in the Philippines was established in July 2007. The nature reserve contains the last remaining rainforest of its size in Metro Manila and surrounds the La Mesa Reservoir, which is the source of most of Manila's drinking water. The reserve is also home many indigenous and endemic species.
The tree planting program began with a 15 minute presentation on Environmental Awareness Orientation and demonstration of pro per tree planting. Volunteers then trekked for 3 km towards the tree planting site, enjoying the companionship and fantastic scenery along the way.
Overall, it was a great day planting trees and paying respect to nature, where everyone put 100% energy in this great cause. Well done to all.
