Following the recent merger, Columbia Shipmanagement and Marlow Navigation jointly participated at the Maritime Cyprus Conference as Columbia Marlow.
The Maritime Cyprus Conference, held 8 - 11 October in Limassol, is an established event organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works and the Department of Merchant Shipping in cooperation with the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and the Cyprus Union of Shipowners. This conference was officially opened by H.E. the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr Nicos Anastasiades.
Distinguished guests such as the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the Commissioner in charge of Transport of the European Commission and other personalities of the International Shipping scene addressed this year's conference. The event included many dynamic discussions and forums with a large number of shipping executives from around the world, where important and current issues relating to international shipping were discussed. The theme for this year’s event was Shipping: “Yesterday's World, Tomorrow's Today”.
Meanwhile last month, Columbia and Marlow participated at London International Shipping Week (LISW), where CEO Mark O’Neil gave a keynote address at the 4th Annual International Shipowning & Shipmanagement Summit, as well as speaking at the joint Columbia Marlow event on “The Future of Shipmanagement”.
“London International Shipping Week is a terrific opportunity to catch up with existing clients, meet potential new clients and participate in stimulating talks and seminars on the hot topics of the moment for the international shipping community,” stated Mr O’Neil.
